People who are regular in using a chainsaw for cutting their own firewood will be certain of the fact that the bars of the chainsaw are the most “use & throw” part of the chainsaw.
You need to have a good quality chainsaw then even your biggest bends and kinks will be worked out.
Before that, you need to understand how such a thing happens, people use a chainsaw to tackle various household and yard tasks but along with that, you need to keep up with your chainsaw bar, that important too. Well, you can find a chainsaw bar extended to the chainsaw’s handle. It is fitted over a chain blade and when you work on heavy-duty then it can damage or bend the bar and you will need to replace the bar.
But you do not have to follow this method if you want to save your money and storage for many years.
Here Are Steps To Straighten A Bent Chainsaw Chain:
Step 1: The first step is to lift the blade guard upwards.
Step 2: Once you move the blade guard upward then try to remove the screws that are holding your chainsaw’s bar at the right place.
Step 3: Once you removed the screws, now your chain blade will become free from the bar so slip it off the bar.
Step 4: Now you don’t have a chain attached to the bar, so remove the bar snd try to find how bad your bend is.
Step 5: Now put the removed bar inside the vise and clamp the bar in such a way that it can be placed properly inside the vise.
Step 6: You can also take the help of pliers to fix the bar back into the position.
Step 7: In this step, you will place the bar flat on the workbench and for that, you need to remove the bar from the vise.
Step 8: Take the help of a rubber mallet for fixing the bend on the bar, all you need to do is tap the rubber mallet on your bar and repeat this process until unless you do not get a straight and flat bar.
Step 9: Once you get your bar straight, slip the chain blade back to its position over the bar.
Step 10: Now use the screws to fix the bar to the base of the saw and tight them to make it fixed.
Well, if you buy a good quality chainsaw for your use, then anything that happened to the saw-like bending or breaking of chain can be fixed at your home. You will not need to buy a new saw every time. Just the important thing is you should know the techniques to sharpen or straighten your chainsaw. If you want to use them for the long run then you will need to maintain their working condition and oiling the chain and bolts can increase their lifetime.
But the most important thing in working with a chainsaw is that you should be able to identify the fault in your chainsaw if you notice something is right to ensure the safety of your own self.
