The Predator 15 G9-593 gtx 1060 has an impressive amount of RAM – 16 GB. This allows it to run multiple resource intensive apps at once.
1. Intel Core i7-7700HQ
The Acer Predator 15 G9-593 gtx 1060 is a gaming laptop for people who want top-of-the-line performance. It features a powerful Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card. It also has a large screen and HDMI-out so you can play games on your TV.
In our Geekbench single-core testing, the chip in this laptop scored 4,599 points. That’s better than the CPUs in the Origin EON15-S, Razer Blade, and HP Omen 15.
The notebook can handle most modern titles at 1920-by-1080 resolution and on high graphics settings. LaptopMedia ran several benchmarks and found that the Predator 15 outperformed its competitors on CS: GO, GTA V, and Rise of the Tomb Raider at high detail levels. It was also able to run Battlefield 1 at 60 frames per second in Turbo mode.
2. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060
Nvidia’s GTX 1060 is a capable GPU that should offer you solid performance for your gaming needs. The graphics card is able to handle games like PUBG, Counter strike and rise of the Tomb raider at high settings with good frame rates.
The GPU is also able to run VR games such as the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift with ease. However, this will be dependent on your system as each headset has different requirements for the GPU to run smoothly.
When tested with the demanding Far Cry Primal game at 1080p and a medium detail setting, the Predator 15 G9-593 gtx 1060 was able to hit 60 fps consistently. This was only slightly behind the MSI GS63VR Stealth Pro. In addition, under heavy graphics loads, the laptop’s fans remain quiet and the keyboard remains cool.
3. 15.6-inch Full-HD display
Inside the laptop is a 15.6-inch Full-HD display that is bright enough to play games in full detail. It also has great viewing angles, so you can enjoy your favorite movies or shows in comfort.
The laptop also comes with a full-sized touchpad that is surrounded by red highlights. It is very smooth and responsive to the touch. It also has a button to disable it for long typing sessions or gaming.
The Acer Predator 15 G9-593 gtx 1060 also has plenty of ports for connectivity. There are two USB 3.0 ports on the right side along with a Thunderbolt port, HDMI, and Gigabit Ethernet. The left side includes a tray-loading DVD drive, another pair of USB 3.0 ports, an SD card reader, and jacks for headphones and the microphone.
4. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 620
Integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 processor inside this Acer Predator 15 G9-593 gtx 1060 laptop provides an excellent gaming performance. It’s quite bulky and heavy though at around 3.7 kilos.
This quad-core CPU is fast enough to handle all current and new games with ease. Acer has also included 16 GB of RAM to allow users to run multiple applications at the same time.
The keyboard is spacious and features a large touchpad that’s surrounded by red highlights. The directional keys and mouse buttons are also illuminated in red, which is a nice touch. The rear of the chassis has a series of vents, which are lined in red instead of the typical black that’s seen on most gaming laptops. This adds to the aggressive look of the machine.
5. Optical drive
The Acer Predator 15 is a good gaming laptop for the money. The Quad-Core Intel Core i7 (7th Gen) 7700HQ processor provides solid performance and the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 GPU can handle demanding games. Its display is bright and its battery life is decent. It also comes with Dolby Audio Premium and Acer True Harmony technologies.
The Predator has a tried-and-true aesthetic, with black soft-touch rubberized plastic and bright red design accents. It’s an aesthetic you’ve seen a thousand times, but some elements of it are starting to show their age.
The IPS panel on the Predator offers excellent color accuracy and vibrant contrast. Its 141 pixels per inch is about what you’d expect from a laptop screen of this size, but it’s still not as dense as you’d find on desktop displays.
