What is microblading?

But who has the time to stop and do their brows on a daily basis right?
The forever evolving beauty industry has the answer to all your eyebrow needs and that is Microblading.
Micro blading is a semi-permanent tattooing method or procedure that helps create the illusion of fuller brows. Unlike conventional tattoos microblading doesn’t last long, the pigment starts fading and is completely gone after one to three years of the procedure. So if one desires to keep their brow look up they may need additional touch ups regularly.
What is the procedure of microblading?
On the day of your microblading appointment you must voice all your concerns and discuss the type of brows that you’re looking for. After answering all your queries and making you feel comfortable, the aesthetician will begin the procedure by taking measurements of your brows. Taking measurements helps the aesthetician in determining the starting and ending point of your brows. After taking the measurements they will draw a rough sketch of the desired shape with an eyebrow pencil. Now comes the most important part, it is where the aesthetician mixes different pigments to create a shade that matches your brows.
Then they will apply a topical numbing ointment on your brows. The numbing ointment keeps you from feeling any discomfort during the procedure. The dermatologist will then begin the procedure by making one stroke at a time with their handheld tool that contains tiny needles. Each needle makes tiny hair-like strokes on the epidermis. You may feel a scraping sensation during the procedure but the pain is quite tolerable. Microblading generally takes 40 minutes to 2 hours depending on the type of brows a person is looking for.
What is the after-care routine that a person needs to follow after microblading?
Once the procedure is done your brows may feel a little red or swollen and it is completely normal. The pigment of your brows may feel very dark but it will fade and go back to the shade you initially chose in a few days.
The after-care routine that one must follow after getting microblading done is that they should keep their brows as dry as possible. Avoid taking long showers and swimming as much as possible. Staying away from moisturising your brows or using any kind of brow products is advised. Direct sun exposure or tanning also needs to be avoided for 4 weeks after the procedure. Scraping or itching the brows is a big no no as it will further irritate the skin and slow down the healing procedure. Chemical peels and intense facial procedures must be avoided for 4 weeks after microblading. Using a mild antibacterial soap is advised to clean the brows.
